Portland, Maine pt 3

Tuesday. 07. 10. 2012.

We meandered down to Portsmouth from Portland on Sunday (Canada Day). If you’ve never been to the east coast, I highly recommend going there sometime.

We found a Tim Hortons in Portland (surprise!)and checked out the lighthouse at Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth. Apparently Tim Hortons is marketed as a cafe and bake shop. (I didn’t notice that in Tim Hortons we stopped at on the way in upstate New York.)

My mom wanted to get fried seafood for lunch since we were going to head back to Three Sons for lobsters and steamers for dinner. On route 1 in Wells, ME is Capt’n Hook’s Fish Market & Takeout. They don’t have seats inside but they did have a little picnic area with access to a toilet and sink. We got their seafood platter: battered and fried shrimp, scallops, clams and haddock with fries and coleslaw, clam chowder, a couple corn on the cob, and 1½ lb of steamers.

It’s hard to go wrong when you have such fresh seafood. Everything came out to ~$55.
