plenty to grow

Yesterday I had a dumpling dinner with friends of mine. One of which came back from a wee vacation in London with an order of seeds I had sent to a mutual friend.

The dumpling dinner was a success. Everyone went home stuffed and satisfied. I even came up with a solution to my ripening chillies. I put a couple chopped up chillies into some soy sauce and roasted sesame oil. It was delicious! Not only with the dumplings but also for dipping steamed broccoli and cauliflower florets.

I learned that beetroot seeds resembled granola.

This morning, I had to “put down” 4 of my bell pepper seedlings to make space for the 2 varieties I got in my order. If all goes well, I’ll have 2 yellow bell pepper (taken from a pepper purchased at the supermarket), 2 Sweet Chocolate and 2 Purple Beauty.

Amongst those 2 most interesting bell peppers, I’ve also ordered butternut squash seeds, white beetroot seeds, parsnip seeds, 3 more tomato seeds, courgette (zucchini) seeds, tsoi sim (Chinese vegetable) seeds, carrot seeds, snow pea seeds and sweet corn seeds.

My seed box is full.

Now if only spring would come sooner.
