not because of anything else

Tuesday. 01. 13. 2009.

Fredrik and I had brunch at my friend’s place on Saturday. Venezuelan food.

We sat around chatting long after we were finished eating. One of the topics that came up was organic food. It made me bring up something my friend Karamjit told me.

Her family comes from India. Her mother’s family are farmers there and they grew their crops organically up till the last 10 years.

What was their reason? Did India catch up in the organic foods trend?

No.

They didn’t have money to buy pesticides.

Here we are in developed nations, paying extra for organic foods shipped from across oceans and continents.

Am I the only person that doesn’t see the sense in it all?
