must watch

Sunday. 12. 21. 2008.

They aired Jamie’s Fowl Dinners yesterday on channel 5. He goes into how chickens and eggs are produced (farmed is no longer the appropriate term) in factory “farms” in comparison to how they are actually farmed. He points out that it’s not the farmers who are money hungry people, it’s us consumers that need to make the changes. Farmers in England apparently make 3 pence out of every chicken that is sold. I personally think there needs to be more support for farmers.

Without farmers, what good is a bunch of doctors and lawyers?

Save the farmers, not the CEOs in Wall Street.

If you get a chance, please check it out. It’s about time that people wake up from their trance and realize that when they have chicken, it was once alive and a beautiful creature. I hope that Jamie can put together more shows like Fowl Dinners about the other animals we eat. God knows the kind of stuff they do to cows and pigs.

The only thing I didn’t like about the show was the amount of food that was wasted.
