Fredrik bought me the third season of “New Scandinavian Cooking” sometime last year. Unfortunately, I left it in Canada. It was super sweet of him because he knows I want to be able to make traditional Swedish food. I’ll bring it with me when I come back from the visit.

Today we were at the grocery store and apparently in Sweden, they have a book sale that happens at the same time to all the stores that sell books. I guess it’s their way of controlling fairness in the businesses. Fredrik mentioned to me sometime ago that Hemtex was having some troubles with the government because they always have sales and it’s not fair to the other stores that sell similar things or the company marks up the “original price” so it seems more tempting to consumers that there’s a “sale” going on.

Anyways.

We were at the grocery store and I bought myself a copy of “En Matresa Genom Sverige” by Tina Nordström (she was the chef in the “New Scandinavian Cooking” dvd). I can’t wait to try out some of the recipes. Not only will the food be Swedish, but the recipes will be in Swedish so I will have to use my Swedish reading abilities. :)
