anyone care for some DUST?
It’s been a busy week. There’s been so much going on. I’ve also been very tired from all the things happening.
Ull went to a boarding home from Wednesday to Friday. Fredrik drove him out to the boarding home and Ull did NOT like the car ride. My poor kitten. It’s his first time meeting other cats since he left his mother and siblings. They all had individual cages/kennels but they can smell each other and the cats that lived in their cage/kennel before they arrive. He had a lady cat named Jenny as a neighbour. She had a totally crooked tail. She didn’t seem to like him very much ’cause she quickly hissed and growled at him which made him hiss back at her.
I also started school on Wednesday. I took the right bus from the train station but it was heading the wrong way. So after I figured that out, I took the bus heading the right way but I was still 10 minutes late. It wasn’t so bad because it was only an introduction orientation. There was nothing particularly important that was done.
It seems like it’s a good mix of people. I’ve already chatted up some of the other students. There are some girls from Germany, a guy from Serbia, a girl from Australia, a couple of boys from the States, a woman from Kazakhstan, and some other fellows from various places. It seems that most people are in the class not as exchange students. Most of the girls have Swedish boyfriends. There’s also a variety of knowledge of Swedish.
There are some doubts about the program but I think it will be ok. Unfortunately it’s not a full day of classes. I was hoping for a full day but the workload appears to be significantly more than SFI. Not to mention the fact that after 3 semesters, I will be able to apply into any university in Sweden for an undergraduate program. It’s much sooner than the SFI/Komvux route. I hope all will go well.
Fredrik didn’t have rehearsal on Wednesday or Thursday so we got ourselves a hotel room in Västerås. It was REALLY nice to have a bathroom and non dusty living area. We also enjoyed the sauna facilities at the hotel.
The stay at the hotel also included a dinner. Neither of us could finish the whole dinner so I pulled out my bento box and collected the left overs. I had some broccoli left over from my lunch (My FIRST bento lunch!!) and I left what I couldn’t eat on my plate. You should’ve seen the look on the waitress’ face! Fredrik said that she took more than just a couple of wide eye looks. Totally understandable since there was no broccoli served.
We ventured around Västerås for a bit and caught a movie. I think Fredrik is turned off of movie theatres for the rest of his life. There were some people sitting behind us that were loud eaters and chatters. The movie theatre was your typical small theatre where the exit sign is brighter than the movie.
Ull came home yesterday and the drive home was just horrific. He seemed a little different at first but today he seems to have been reset back. He’s licking himself on my lap at the present moment. He actually recognized me quite quickly when we arrived at the boarding home. Both Fredrik and I missed him very much.
We are thinking about foregoing the boarding home next week because I will be home 2 out of 5 days and he will be home alone for about 5 hours. Our bedroom is much bigger than the cage/kennel he stays in and he won’t have to deal with the 45min drive out to the place and then the 45min back home.
