I went to IKEA today. I drove there by myself during the day with many cars on the road. It may not seem like a big deal but to me it’s a big enough deal. For those of you who did not know, I’ve been trying to master the art of driving stick. Not to mention the fact that driving through roundabouts is almost like playing chicken.

Anyways.

Our kitchen is rather small and counter space is rather limited. Limited is kind of an understatement. There’s enough space for the microwave, the kettle and toaster. The rest of the counter space is not suitable for putting any other household appliance since it’s part of the sink. There are also only 2 outlets in the kitchen. One near the sink and the other on the other side of the room.

So I went to IKEA with the intention of getting the Förhöja kitchen cart. After checking out my options at IKEA, I decided on getting 2 Bekväm kitchen carts instead. It was almost 200kr cheaper to get the 2 smaller carts and the combined “counter” space of the 2 carts is 20cm bigger.

Now there is space for things like my big pot, our extra pans, my rice cooker, and our coffee maker. I would like to have my Pyrex bowls out on display but this doesn’t seem to be the place for it. I would like to get a small shelf to hang on the wall above the carts to put my Pyrex bowls.
